Recently, NEBULA - Xplorer has been shortlisted by ESA as selectable for the mini-F class missions. Such a mini-F opens additional opportunities for science, engineering and technology. Notably, a mini-F mission with a larger spacecraft would allow for an additional camera.

Investigate the possibilities for a high energy X-ray instrument (HEXI) for the energy band of approximately 10 to 100 keV, without (significant) input optics. This assignment shall include investigations into suitable detectors, (preliminary) design of the suspension of the detectors into a focal plane assembly, thermal behaviour, and read-out electronics. This assignment shall result in a technical note describing the full HEXI camera, and its impact on the mission (mass, volume, power, data, interfaces).
