Low Energy X-ray Instrument FPA definition
- Location:leiden
- organisation:sron
- Your study:mechanical engineering
Your Position
For the current baseline of the low energy X-ray instrument, targeted at a spacecraft for the Falcon 9 launcher, the focal plane assembly (FPA) needs to be redesigned, with focus on - The thermal behaviour of the detectors - The shielding of high energy particles towards the detectors - The shielding of stray light towards the detectors - The electrical wiring of the harness for the detectors towards the satellite bus By means of FEM analysis, it shall be proven that the FPA will survive the launch loads.
This assignment will result in a design description for the FPA, including - The design itself (drawings) and trade-offs made - The results of FEM analysis given the launch loads of the Falcon 9 launcher - The results of thermal analysis - Recommendations for a possible next design iteration
